Intellectual Property

ALiA Biotech holds 23 patents, 5 design patents and 29 trademarks to protect our intellectual property.

The Point-Of-Care platform of ALiA® is protected by patents in worldwide.

Microarray

Microarray

The technology of protein microarray is to print and incubate specific proteins and peptides onto a chemically processed substrate at an extremely small scale. We integrate a microarray with our BioChip which enables our Point-Of-Care platform to perform multiple immunoassays in one test within 15 minutes.

With our microarray embedded BioChip, front-line workers can receive multiple disease diagnostic results right next to patients and immediately prescribe accurate medication and necessary treatment.

Microfluidics

Microfluidics

Microfluidic is the technology for the precise control of fluids at a very small scale. With microfluidic chip, fluids (reagents and samples) are directed, mixed, separated, or manipulated to attain automatic processing of a test in a precise manner. Microfluidic based tests are introduced as the main growth force for the next generation Point-Of-Care testing.

Our Lab-On-Chip diagnostic platform utilizes microfluidic technologies and incorporates multiple functions into a small BioChip. The self-contained BioChip provides a seamless testing experience without any fluidic interfaces to the diagnostic analyzer for minimal cross-contamination risks.

Fluorescent Immunoassay

Fluorescent Immunoassay

Immunoassay is a biochemical test that measures the presence of a macromolecule in a solution using a series of antibody, antigen or peptides. The macromolecule detected by the immunoassay is in many cases a protein. The importance and widespread utilization of immunoassay methods in diagnosis of diseases are attributed to their inherent specificity, high-throughput, and high sensitivity for the analysis of wide range of analytes in biological samples.

By combining microfluidics with immunoassay, we speed up the test process and integrate multiplexing functions while maintaining high specificity and sensitivity.

Lab-On-Chip

Lab-On-Chip

A Lab-On-Chip (LOC) is a small microfluidic device that integrates multiple laboratory functions into a single chip with a size ranging from a few square millimetres to a few square centimetres.

In ALiA® Point-Of-Care Testing Platform, it integrates array of micro-volume with program-controlled Lab-On-Chip (LOC) system and forms an automated BioChip. This BioChip is a miniaturized diagnostic laboratory interface designed specifically for Point-Of-Care use to allow healthcare providers to perform onsite end-to-end tests without centralized laboratory facilities.
